Joanna’s Tips on Aging Well
The truth is that as skin is concerned, there is no turning back the clock; aging skin is part of a natural process that is determined in part by genetics. Aging starts in earnest in your mid twenties that’s why we always urge young people to take skincare seriously.
What exactly happens to your skin when you age? Just under the top layer of your skin, the dermis begins to lose thickness, and from your mid-twenties until your golden years, its width decreases by 20 to 80 percent. The production of collagen and elastin slows down as well and much of your skin’s existing supply starts to break down resulting in reduced resiliency and fullness.
Between ages thirty and eighty, the rate of skin cell turnover declines between 30 and 50 percent, meaning that we don’t shed cells as rapidly. This leads to dull, rough, flaky, patchy, or dry skin. Other skin cells don’t form as quickly, either, causing a slower immune response in the body.
There are some things that will make your skin age faster than others. Below are some skincare tips that can help with the signs of aging.

Tip 1: HYDRATION: Dehydrated skin over time leads to wrinkles in the epidermis. When we lose hyaluronic acid as we age, cells can’t hold on to as much water which causes more dehydration.
